Meet Head Coach Pete Laforest
As a Montreal native, Pete attended a similar school in his formative years. It changed his life. With coach support, talent and grit, Pete reached levels Academy athletes aspire to. In 2003, he made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays and went on to play for the Expos, Padres and Phillies. He also represented team Canada in the Olympics and World Baseball Classic.
Following his 16-year professional career, Pete managed professionally where he led his team to the CanAM League Championship. After his professional career, Coach Laforest dedicated his life to helping student-athletes reach their potential.

Live on campus
Trosky Academy East is unique to our other Trosky Academies. Students live directly across the street from the facility in a secure, new apartment building. Similar to college dorm living, students share an apartment with other like-minded students. Families in the Kalamazoo can select their living preferences - at home or at academy accommodations.

Participate in team games regularly
Trosky Academy East is the only Trosky Academy currently offering baseball teams. The program participates in local leagues and travels to play across the country during winter months.

Student-athletes live on campus at Trosky Academy East. In the off hours, students participate in a plethora of activities including full use of the baseball and weight training facility, group training sessions and can participate in local church programs.
